Hafner Properties
The Hafner family started in Real Estate in the 1940s. Albert and Genevieve Hafner owned some small buildings and their children, Michele, Michael and Mark, learned a strong work ethic at an early age by helping to maintain those properties. These properties were all built by the family business in order to provide comfortable apartment living for residents at reasonable rents. Willow River and Lake Mallalieu Apartments are adjacent properties located in North Hudson, Wisconsin on the banks of Willow River at Lake Mallalieu, neighboring the St. Croix River. The third property, Ridgecrest Apartments, is conveniently located in the heart of Oakdale, Minnesota.
Quality materials were used in the building of their properties to create homes held to the high standard of the Hafner family. Many members of the Hafner family have lived in their apartment homes over the years.
The Hafner children are still involved in managing and maintaining of all three properties and live close by in the neighboring communities. They enjoy getting to know the residents, some of which have lived in their apartments for many years.
Ridgecrest Apartments currently has an on-site Property Manager, Eileen “Dolly” Sparber, who manages all the day-to-day activities in the building, and the main office for all three properties is located at Lake Mallalieu Apartments and is currently managed by Jessica Gray, Office Manager.

We were drawn to Lake Mallalieu Apartments because of the reasonable price, especially for the Hudson area. Once living there I was impressed how clean the building was kept. My favorite part of all though was the view we had of the lake! It was my favorite place to sit & relax.

I had a wonderful experience at Lake Mallalieu Apartments. I lived there for over a year. Jessica, the office manager, was amazing. She was very attentive, always answered all of my questions, and easy to get a hold of. The maintenance was prompt and quick anytime I had an issue (which was only twice). The grounds were always very nice and clean as well as the apartment building. Location was amazing as it was right on the water! I definitely miss being that close to the lake and river! Quiet street and quiet building. The outside of the building is older, but my apartment was completely remodeled so it looked brand new inside with floors, carpets, countertops, and cabinets. Wonderful experience living at these apartments. You will not be disappointed!

I lived there for two years…I LOVED the lake view and all the wildlife surrounding me! I could actually see the fish in the lake from my apt and there are eagle’s nests right outside my window! Beautiful….laundry was next door & always clean, many friendly ppl & the manager is amazing! Will miss it there…

Willow River Apartments provided a warm and welcoming environment to stay in and call home. The neighbors were extremely nice and helpful. Beautiful location off of Lake Mallalieu in North Hudson WI. We also enjoyed the attentive and responsive staff. We would recommend this apartment to anyone!

In August 2010 my husband and I began residing at 208 Wisconsin St. N Apt. #206. It was our first choice coming over the border from MN because of the great location right on the river. In the two and one-half years we spent at Lake Mallalieu Apartments, we went on numerous walks with our bulldog through the beautiful river side only to look over and see the lovely shore line of Lakeland. We have completely enjoyed our time with our stay. Management has always been helpful and friendly. My husband and I purchased a home in Hudson and it is time to move on to another phase of our life. However, we will look back with great memories of the time we spent with the Willow River/Lake Mallalieu family.
